Xpeng P7

The scandalous Chinese company Xpeng (Xiaopeng Motors) not only applied for an IPO, but also pleases consumers with its second car – Xpeng P7. The new Chinese electric car is very similar to Tesla, which of course did not go unnoticed by Tesla lawyers. Legal proceedings are suspended during the global pandemic, and the delivery of new cars to buyers is proceeding according to plan – at the end of 2020. Buyers can order this car in 3 different versions and 8 possible trim levels. The firm makes their sales only at Chinese market, but there is information about future sales of electric cars in Europe and America. The company recently requested permission to test its cars on American roads, so sooner or later the new Xpeng P7s will appear outside of China.

The innovative sedan is produced at Xpeng’s own plant in Zhaoqing. As a reminder, the Xpeng P7 sports sedan is an electric vehicle with the longest range per charge (according to the Chinese Ministry of Industry).  The P7 has a range of 706 km (according to the NEDC cycle), and the official data on the Model 3 speaks of 668 kilometers. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h is 6.7 seconds.

The newest  P7 is Xpeng’s second car and the first sedan type car. This electric car was released 2 years after the announcement of the previous car. The car will be realised in  two versions with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive transmission. The maximum equipment with all fancy features is available only with four-wheel drive transmission.

The car has two electric motors: rear with 265 hp, and front (for all-wheel drive model) with 161 hp. The power plant allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 from the rear-wheel drive model, and 4.3 from the top-end model. These figures are inferior to Tesla, however, they are quite competitive.

Xpeng positions the P7 as an electric vehicle with the latest automatic steering system, which surpasses all analogues on the market. The car is also equipped with an unbelievable  NVIDIA DRIVE Xavier-based drone system that supports Xpilot versions 2 and 3 equally.

The Xpeng P7 has a lot of cameras. With them you can see rear, side and front view without any mirrors! This allows you to create a 180-degree view, as well as calculate a turn curve or recognize too sharp angles to maneuver.

The design of the electric vehicle is sleek. There are two narrow headlights in front, connected to each other by a narrow LED strip, on both sides of the bumper there are blocks for installing fog lights. The roof line is low, the door handles do not stand out against the background of the body, the taillights are made in the form of an LED strip.
