Bugatti Chiron

Exciting, phenomenal, fantastic and fast as hell. The description of the driving experience of this 1,500-horsepower Bugatti drains definitions at lightning speed. This is a truly unique experience that is unlikely to be repeated.

The performance of the Chiron with its 8L 16-cylinder engine is unimaginable: 0-100 km / h in less than 2.5 seconds and 0-300 km / h in less than 14 seconds. For the protection of the filling as well as for safety, the maximum speed is electronically limited. You can choose between two levels of madness: 380 or 420 km / h. The car is able to reach this speed only if you activate the Speed key, the second key supplied with the car.

The Chiron is something transcendent in both acceleration and deceleration: the system includes four carbon-ceramic discs (front diameter 420 mm) and the contribution of a rear wing. When you firmly press the brake pedal, the winglet is transverse to the airflow and becomes an aerodynamic brake, providing 2g deceleration. Therefore, a supercar weighing under two tons requires a limited stopping distance.

But whichever mode is chosen, there is no other simpler than the Chiron to control a supercar – both on a walk and on the track. Naturally, in relation to its dynamics. It is easy enough to skillfully use the most powerful reserve of traction, especially on winding roads, where fast and accurate steering and excellent suspension (including due to a very low center of mass) will help you feel great. In any case, we did not expect that it would be so easy to tame the beast with such incredible numbers.

Bugatti Chiron is now considered to be the fastest conditionally production car in the world. The standard version can accelerate to 420 km / h, but a specially prepared prototype under the control of the factory test pilot Andy Wallace squeezed 490.484 km / h! The previous record was broken with a huge advantage: two years ago, it was set by the Koenigsegg Agera RS hypercar, gaining 446.97 km / h.

The record-breaking Chiron has a number of differences from the standard model. The W16 engine with four turbochargers is boosted from 1500 to 1600 “horses”. The new tail unit made the car 25 cm longer: the stretched stern should increase downforce and, in addition, play the role of an air flow stabilizer. And the four tailpipes of the exhaust system even protrude beyond the size of the body, so that hot exhaust gases affect aerodynamics as little as possible.
